It's Friday! Time for the Book Blogger Hop

I am so late, but now I know.  I've been seeing the Blog Hop on some of my fav blogs and didn't know what was up.  Now that I'm in the know, it's hoppin' time.  Go to Crazy For Books to find out more about The Blog Hop.

If you found me through blog hoppin, please post a comment to let me know.  I'll then hop on over to you and say hi!

Here are a few new blogs that I have discovered.

Yeah, that's just a few because I am super lame and tired.  I'll continue hopping over the weekend when I've gotten some sleep.

Twilight Graphic Novel

Speaking of The Twilight Saga, I saw the Twilight Graphic Novel in Wal-Mart yesterday.  I almost bought it.  Even though I have read the original story about a dozen times, I just wanted the graphic for my collection.  I did flip through it and liked the graphics, but when I realized that it didn't include the entire story and that I'd have to purchase the second graphic, I put it back.  You money whores!  Why can't it all go in one book?  Gawd, what if I wanted the Breaking Dawn graphic novel?  Would I be buying four graphics to make up that one book?  I digress.

Eclipse Trailer on Oprah

Okay, twilighters, time to get your "damn, I can't wait to see that" scream on.   Just learned, courtesy of my Twit Peeps, that the big O has the latest Eclipse trailer.  She released it on her show today.  By now it's probably all over the net, but lucky for you, I've done all the goggling for you and posted it here for your enjoyment.  The cast will be on her show May 13  and the movie will be out June 13, so mark your calendars.

Oh, that reminds me, I need to call my bro so I can get my New Moon DVD back.  He's had it for quite some time now.  For him to be a confessed twihater, he certainly didn't mind asking me for.  He calls it "that shiny gay vampire movie".  Okay hater, drop it off.

J R Ward talks Love Mine and Black Dagger Brotherhood

Of course I am ubber and dubber excited that the countdown to Lover Mine is almost over (7 whole days and counting) and thanks to Smexy Books, Fiction Vixen, and a host of other blogger queens and their reviews, I am now frantic to get my hot little hands on this masterpiece. I have no shame when I say that I will be going by all bookstores daily in hopes that a sales person who does not know the seriousness of a BDB book, will put the books out early.  I am prepared to bribe any sales person to go ahead and ring me up.  I will kindly take my package, run for the nearest exit, knock down  anyone  in my way, race to my car, peel out of the parking lot with squealing tires, and break the law getting home.

That's just me, but feel free to do your own thang.

Anyhoo, click HERE to see J R Ward talking about writing Lover Mine and The Black Dagger Brotherhood series.

Now, as long as I've been reading the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series (and I've read them all), for some reason I've always thought that Xhex's name was pronouned "X".  The Warden refers to her as "Hex".  Wow.   Well, she'll always be "X" to me because that name fits her image, the baddest bitch.

New Blog Design

Special thanks to Exotic Mommie at Divalicious Designs for my new blog design.  She also did the design for my Dove Chocolate blog, Luv Me Some Chocolate (contest going on-win a packet of spiced chai tea).

If you are in need of some sprucing up on your blogs or websites, she's your girl.  She's easy to work with and has a great turn around time.

Please leave me a comment to tell me what you think.  And now I must blog...

Back to my basics

I have been soooo MIA.  I just finished up with one job(seasonal-GOODBYE TAX SEASON!!!!!!) and taking on a new position on my second job.  Today was my last day of training with my new position (picking up my strawberry daquiri and taking a long swig- Wow!  I think I put a little bit to much Bacardi in that one!). Now I will have more free time to finish up the books that I've left half or unread.

It's sad because I have so many books that I was trying to finish up, but I can't seem to remember what the heck I've read.  I guess I'll just have to start over so I'll know what's going on.

But, when Lover Mine comes out later this month, I'm gonna make sure I cop that and drop everything.  So, that's why I'm trying to finish up as much as I can.  Well, times a wasting, so I'd better get to just that...

The Darkest Passion by Gena Showalter

Title:  The Darkest Passion
Author:  Gena Showalter
Released: Will release May 2010
Series:  Lords of the Underworld, Book 8

I received this galley courtesy of Netgalley.com to review.

Book Summary
For weeks, the immortal warrior Aeron has sensed an invisible female presence.  An angel--a demon-assassin--has been sent to kill him.  Or has she?  Olivia claims she fell from the heavens, giving up immortality because she couldn't bear to harm him. But trusting - and falling for - Olivia will endanger them all. So how has this 'mortal' with the huge blue eyes already unleashed Aeron's darkest passion?

Now, with an enemy hot on his trail and his faithful demon companion determined to remove Olivia from his life, Aeron is trapped between duty and consuming desire. Worse still, a new executioner has been sent to do the job Olivia wouldn't...

My Thoughts
Olivia is an angel that wants nothing more than to molest the very demon that she is suppose to kill.  She even goes so far as to give up her wings to become human so that she can win his heart.  Well, ladies, once we set our sites on that one particular guy, nothing can save him.  Olivia is determined to have Aeron, even if it means dying for him.

Aeron is the clueless demon that can't comprehend why a fallen angel craves his attention so much. Besides being a total idiot, he has a heart of stone-or so he thought-and has no time to play boyfriend to a misguided angel.  He tries his best to fend off Olivia's advances but the more he fights, the more he starts to be crave her attention as well.

I loved this story and had so much fun reading it. Who knew that angels and demons could play so nicely and so dangerously?  The drama and the dialogue had me not wanting to stop reading.  Each time I got to a spot that I thought I could bookmark, I just couldn't put it down.

There was very few dislikes for me.  One thing I didn't like was the history and mythology.  I know those parts were probably essential to the story but I was a little too eager to get to the meat of the story.  Some parts I did read, but others I just skipped right over.  I like getting to the juicy drama filled parts, and this book had quite a few parts.

I also did not like the way the book ended.  Sure it left room for another installment, but I hate it when things are tied up all nice and neat but you're still  left feeling  like it should be more.

My Rating
I give The Darkest Passion Four Stars.  I would definitely recommend this book.  I've always loved everything Gena Showalter writes,  and this one didn't disappoint.  It was a good read.  The dialogue alone  makes me want to reread just for the laughs.

Sexy Saturday

Here is another piece of hotness for Sexy Saturday.  It's Usher, baby.  Mr. Usher Raymond is a super hot and super sexy singer. Check out his new album Raymond vs Raymond .

So glad he's getting a divorce!  Sorry wifey, but I've been a fan of Usher for years and as soon as he got married, he fell of his A game.  The relationship didn't look believable anyway because he never looked really  happy.  Another confirmation that babies don't make relationship.

The couple spent so much time trying to convince his fans that the marriage was real that the relationship fell apart rather quickly-but we're not complaining.  I hate to see families break up, but I have always thought that he should have stayed with Chili from TLC.  Just my personal thoughts, but I thought they made a cute couple.  With Tameka, his ex, the whole pix just looked wrong.  I get that he prefers older women (call me!) but, she just didn't look like his type at all.

Anyhoo, his last album was tired, but now that he's single again, his music is better. Single men are so much hotter than married men.  Sorry to say it, but marriage is just not a good look on certain men,  It makes them look all tied down and stuff.
