Author Spotlight: Interview And Giveaway with Eve Langlais--Contest Closed!!

Today I welcome erotic author, Eve Langlais to the blog.  I had a chance to pick Eve's brain and here's what I came up with.

Diva:  Tell me three interesting things about Eve Langlais.

Eve:  Hmm three interesting things. I love chips and dip but don't like to share.  I hate bugs of all kinds and have been known to scream to the amusement of my neighbors if a big spider crosses my path.
Housework is the bane of my existence and I wish scientists would hurry up and make a real Rosy robot who will do it all for me.

Diva:   When did you start writing?

Eve:  I began writing in February of 2009 after a particularly bad romance hit my living room wall--hard. My husband shook his head at my cursing and dared me to do better.  Hating to lose, and wondering if I could even do it, I sat down to write. Several published works later I think I can safely say I won the bet and discovered a new career that actually excites me.

Diva:   What inspired you to decide to write erotic romance?

Eve:  I like to use dirty words. LOL. Seriously, there is nothing worse than reading a wonderful romance and suddenly hitting some purple prose about swords thrusting and seeing rainbows. Sweet and soft romance stories are nice, but erotic tales, if done right, can excite/titillate/arouse and have you tearing the clothes off your partner to indulge in sweaty fun. Or maybe I'm just a pervert. LOL.

Diva:   How long did it take to get your first book published?

Eve:  I am a horrible example of blind luck. My first book, Take A Chance, was accepted by Champagne Books within only a few months of completion. The book itself was released just this last June and is a sensual fantasy romance featuring a librarian and a cursed wizard.

Diva:  Who are some of your favorite authors?

Eve:  If we're talking favorite romance authors then Kresley Cole and Gena Showalter because their alpha heroes are to die for. If I pick up one of their books, I don't put it down 'til it's done.

Diva:  What new releases are on your TBR (To Be Read) list?

Eve:  I've got so many.  I want Bear Necessities because it sounds hilarious. The Darkest Lie and Darkest Passion.  I love the Lords of the Underworld.  And Demon from the Dark because it just sounds good.

Diva:   Are you working on any new projects that you can tell me about?

Eve:  I am working on Alien Mate 3 at the request of readers. Apparently they haven't had enough yet of the big blue hunks. This one will be more of a galactic trek where Reg, a blue babe who doesn't want to settle down, rescues a geeky human who wants to study him--especially his probing habits. After this one, I'm debating finally tackling Cleopatra's story before she drives me insane. Apparently history didn't quite get her story right. To keep track of what I'm up to, simply visit my site @ http://www.EveLanglais.com I've got some smoking covers and excerpts just waiting there to entice you.

A  big thanks to Diva for interviewing me and checking out my work. I also thank all of you who took the time to read this.

Eve’s Question:  What makes you throw a book at a wall?

Great interview - I have to go find myself a copy of Take a Chance! I work in a library and only wish I could meet a cursed wizard!

Thanks for hosting the giveaway! Please enter me - I am a follower and bad endings make me throw the book at the wall. You know where the author has the opportunity to take all the bad things and make them work out right and doesn't!!! I also hate the love triangle where she picks the WRONG guy! (Secret babies cause toooooo much dumb drama and cheaters are supposed to lose the girl!)

I like a grittier, more urban fantasy-type read, so I don't usually require an HEA. But, when I do read a straight romance, I can't stand when a physical and/or emotional separation gets completely resolved in the last few pages, so the HEA can happen.

Thanks for the giveaway, and to Eve for sharing!

This looks like a good book , hmmm what ,makes me want to throw a book against the wall is when they have A) poor storylines and the plots don't make any sense and B) when the characters get up my nose and the author's keep chopping and changing everything and it's like Huh ????

Great interview!

TSTL characters, inexplicable behavior from characters, and pretty much anything that takes me out of the story (because it didn't make any sense or defied the laws of physics). I'm fairly easy-going in my reading material though so it's got to be really bad for me to throw a book against the wall.

I actually want to like the characters in the books I read, so if that doesn't happen pretty darn soon after starting the story, I end up kicking it to the curb.

Another one for me is the BIG MISUNDERSTANDING!! I am a huge fan of whitty and smart dialogue, and want my characters to actually talk to each other, yell or argue, and then make up, of course.

Great interview! I've seen Eve's titles but never slowed down long enough to take a peek. This interview hints that I'm missing something!!

What makes me throw a book at a wall? Well for anyone who's read the Fever series -- the cliff hanger in Dreamfever MADE me throw THINGs (couldn't throw the book it was from the library) for DAYS. I was pulled to the edge of the cliff -- then sucker punched and knee-over the edge to plummet to the land of "waiting" for the final book. So super-awesome-kick-ur-azz-cliffhangers make me throw things.

Gotta love it! :)
