Book Summary:
Ten years after Blayne Thorpe first encountered Bo Novikov, she still can't get the smooth-talking shifter out of her head. Now he's shadowing her in New York-all seven-plus feet of him-determined to protect her from stalkers who want to use her in shifter dogfights. Even if he has to drag her off to an isolated Maine town where the only neighbors are other bears almost as crazy as he is...
Let sleeping dogs lie. Bo knows it's good advice, but he can't leave Blayne be. Blame it on her sweet sexiness -- or his hunch that there's more to this little wolfdog than meets the eye. Blayne has depths he hasn't yet begun to fathom -- much as he'd like to. She may insist Bo's nothing but a pain in her delectable behind, but polar bears have patience in spades. Soon she'll realize how good they can be together. And when she does, animal instinct tells him it'll be worth the wait...
My Thoughts:
Oh what a twisted mind you have, Ms Laurenston!
In the latest shifter shenanigans, we learn more about Blayne, the hybrid BFF from Mane Squeeze. Blayne has always been the true friend that did whatever to help a friend out, and I considered her the sane one. But in this latest book, her whole character just got crazy like Coco Puffs.
She's still lovable, and even though she's part wolf, you'd never know. Her dog side seems to be more dominant because I found myself wanting to whack her with a rolled up newspaper just to make her calm down. And they wonder why dogs aren't suppose to have chocolate.
I loved Bo and his in your face attitude, but I kept picturing him as a seven foot tall Jason in a hockey mask. Scary, right? Oddly, I still found myself really wanting him to get his girl.
His OCD and "if it's not on my list, it doesn't exist" attitude was a bit much, but being in love with Blayne, a guy has got to have some order to stay sane. He turned out to be a much needed calm in the Blayne storm.
This book was nonstop fun for me and I couldn't put it down. I especially like the parts where Blayne keep getting attacked by badgers. And who could forget Bo's face offs with Blayne's play brothers. Funny stuff.
My Rating:
I give Beast Behaving Badly 4.5 stars. Never in my life will I be able to say that I bought a book by Shelly Laurenston that I didn't love.

The Mane Attraction by Shelly Laurenston

Five Stars
Book Summary
Weddings have the strangest effect on people. How else to explain the fact that Sissy Mae Smith woke up in Mitch Shaw's bed the morning after her brother Bobby Ray tied the knot? Or that gunmen are trying to kill Mitch, and Sissy Mae now has to escort a bleeding, stubborn, yet still incredibly sexy lion shifter to her Tennessee Pack's turf to keep him safe? It doesn't help that Mitch's appraising gaze makes her feel like the most desirable creature on earth, or that the ultimate stray cat is suddenly acting all kinds of possessive...
Mitch is an undercover cop who's about to testify against some dangerous ex-associates. Even more worrisome, he's harboring hot, X-rated fantasies about the fast-talking little canine-and he has to deal with every male in Sissy Mae's Pack sniffing around her in a way that makes his hackles rise. Mitch has his pride, and he intends to show Sissy Mae that when a lion sets out to make you his mate, the only thing to do is purr, roll over, and enjoy one hell of a ride...
My goodness, where to start? This book had me LMAO! This is book three in her The Pride Series. Shelly Laurenston knows how to tell a story. You've got fast talking hillbillies, shifters of all kinds, alpha males and females, family squabbles, super hot sex, and dialogue that will keep you laughing for days.
We met Mitch and Sissy Mae in The Mane Event. Mitch, a lion shifter, is Brendon's younger brother who everyone thought was a total screw up and a disgrace to their Pride. Turns out he's an undercover cop with a million dollar bounty on his head. Sissy Mae, a wolf shifter, is Smitty's shit starting baby sister with her own Pack. Sissy Mae is a handful for anyone who knows her because she loves to start shit whether you're ready to fight or not. They were suppose to be best friends but as soon as Sissy Mae takes him home to Smithtown, Tennessee, everything changes.
I loved this story and couldn't put it down until I finished. I'm still trying to figure out what in the world "hoss" means. SL took her readers straight to the country where everybody knows your name, everybody knows your business, everybody is related, and everybody wants to kill you.
Mitch was his old lovable self, flirting his way through life to get what he wanted. His tune abruptly changes when he realizes that every male in Smithtown and surrounding area wants a chance with the legendary Sissy Mae Smith. He wants to be her one and only, but all Sissy Mae wants to do is keep their relationship with no strings attached. That's kinda hard to do when all they think about is each other.
You will have absolute fun reading this story and any other book she has written. She also writes under the name G A Aikens.
