WTF Moment...Snoop Dog singing to Sookie Stackhouse
WTF? Okay, it's clear that everybody is feeling True Blood. Thanks to Larissa @ Larrisa's Bookish Life for posting this video on her site, I still have tears in my eyes from Snoop's words. Yes, they're lame, but so funny. Please watch the entire video.

Dead In The Family by Charlaine Harris
Title: Dead In The Family
Author: Charlaine Harris
Released: May 4, 2010
Series: Sookie Stackhouse/Southern Vampire Series, Book 10
How I Got It: Purchased ebook
Book Summary
After enduring torture and the loss of loved ones during the brief but deadly Faery War, Sookie Stackhouse is hurt and she's angry. Just about the only bright spot in her life is the love she thinks she feels for vampire Eric Northman. But he's under scrutiny by the new Vampire King because of their relationship. And as the political implications of the Shifters coming out are beginning to be felt, Sookie's connection to the Shreveport pack draws her into the debate. Worst of all, though the door to Faery has been closed, there are still some Fae on the human side-and one of them is angry at Sookie. Very, very angry...
My Thoughts
Okay, to be honest, parts of this book had me feeling like it should have been called "Kickin' It With Sookie" because it was just that. Seriously, I felt like killing someone just to get some action going. I almost put the book down because I got tired of waiting for the action.
The only reason I kept reading was because I didn't want to miss my two favorite characters: Pam and Eric. I'd gladly read any book where they get more page time. Whatever they do turns out to be entertaining without even meaning to be.
We also got to meet Eric's maker. That was a bonus because he brought along Eric's "brother", a thirteen year old psychotic boy toy that wanted to be Jason's BFF. A psychotic barely-a-teen vamp? WTF? He was such a chaotic mess that everybody was glad to see him die.
Another reason I kept reading is because Claude, Sookie's fairy cousin, just appeared on her doorstep all out of the blue and whatnot. Then he asked to move in. Now we all know that Claude has not been a fan of Sookie's since his twin, Claudine died in the last book while protecting her. And then her weirdo fairy great uncle showed up, trying to play all nice. I knew something was up with that and knew there would eventually be a fae showdown of some sort. The happenings were not what I expected, but it kept the story interesting.
Oh, and Bill was there too. And he's got a new honey. Her presence was unexpected, but proved to add a little spice to a dull tale. Her presence gave a little insight as to why Bill lied to Sookie about going to see his maker in the earlier books. Now I kinda understand why he wanted to keep Lorena as far away from Sookie as he possibly could.
Last, but not least, our favorite were Alcide returns. And of course he returns with more drama to involve Sookie in. The weres weren't a big part of the story, but it was enough to keep you posted on what going on with them.
My Rating
I have to give this book three and 3.5 stars. I am a Sookie Stackhouse fan, but I do have to say that this book did not live up to the hype. I liked some parts, the others were not action grabbers. It still wasn't a bad book, just expected more.

True Blood Minisode
Watch this minisode. This is why I love True Blood! Pam and Eric are always funny ass hell!
June 13th? Dammit, do I really have to wait that long?
I'm getting ready to read Dead In The Family, the 8th book in the Sookie Stackhouse Novels and hope it does not disappoint.

A Touch of Dead by Charlaine Harris

Three Stars
Book Summary
In Fairy Dust, fairy twins Claudine and Claude hire Sookie to find out who killed their triplet, Claudette. Sookie's got a bad feeling about this but is determined to bring the twins closure.
In Dracula Night, Eric is throwing a birthday party at his bar Fangtasia. It's Dracula's birthday and Eric is hoping that Dracula himself will make an appearance. Vampires only celebrate two holidays, Halloween and Dracula's birthday. Sookie is invited, but with a room full of vamps and Dracula on the way, it's going to be hard to keep her off the dinner menu.
One Word Answer, Sookie gets some unsettling news concerning her long lost cousin, Hadley. Just when she thinks life couldn't get any weirder, she finds herself drawn further into the vampire world.
What is there to do in Bon Temps with no mystery to solve? In Lucky, Sookie must help her insurance agent uncover some strange happenings with his business.
Gift Wrap finds Sookie alone for the holidays but gets a very unexpected holiday surprise in the form of a naked man.
I picked up this book of short stories about Sookie Stackhouse thinking it was new material. It wasn't but I still love me some Sookie Stackhouse so I read it anyway. I had already read most of these stories because they were included in other anthologies. I did enjoy rereading them since we won't be hearing anything from the Bon Temps gang until next summer.

True Blood Episode 11
The writers are fantastic! I just finished watching "Frenzy" and could not stop laughing. This show truly gets better with each episode. My favorite lines are always from bubble head Jason Stackhouse. He tells Sam and Andy that in order to save the town, you'll have to destroy it. He says that's from the Bible...or the Constitution.
I also enjoyed the scenes with Sophia Anne, the LA vampire queen. REW was a great choice for the role because she really brings this character to life. She wears the title Queen Bitch really well. I just hope her storyline is expanded a little because it will bring more drama to the Bill/Sookie/Eric triangle. I can't wait until it gets really messy.
I really didn't like the actor that plays Eric, to me he didn't fit the part. In season one, he looked lanky, not sexy. I'm not sure what they have done, but AS is popping sexy and making us forget any descriptions that Ms. Harris gave us in the books.
Bill is still a pasty old hot mess. SM is still not a good choice for the role. If they seriously wanted people to fall in love with him, they should have gotten someone like Johnny Depp. JD has had the dark and dangerous look down pat for years and gets better with time. SM does not and will not.
Can't wait for the season finale-wait, yes I can. There is only one more episode left and if I'm not mistaken, it won't be this Sunday, but in two weeks. Why oh why do they make us wait? Then we'll have to wait until Summer 2010 to find out what happens. Life is so unfair...

True Blood Episode 9
OMG! If you have never seen this show, you are seriously missing out on some good entertainment. True Blood is way better than the Sookie Stackhouse novels. Don't get me wrong, I love Charlaine Harris and all the books, but Alan Ball is taking Sookie to a whole new high.
Last night, in episode 9, one of the Fellowship of the Sun soldier blows up Godric's house. Surprisingly only minor characters are killed but others are hurt. Bill finds Eric lying on top of Sookie shielding her from being hit by flying metal. Bill, being the dumb ass that he is, leaves Sookie alone with Eric to go after soldiers that are fleeing the scene. I see two things wrong with that. One, he doesn't think enough of his girlfriend to stay and comfort her through this terrifying ordeal. Two, he knows that Eric wants Sookie and will do whatever necessary to get her but he's leaving her alone with him and they are both bleeding. On that note, Eric tricks Sookie into literally sucking on his wounds. He tells her he's dying so she does it. Bill catches her and is pissed but Eric is smiling. By doing this, Sookie swallows his blood and has forms their famous blood bond. Now, anyone who is up on vampires knows that if a vampire forms a blood bond with a human, that human is pretty much screwed. Eric can now tell sense her emotions and tell where she is at all times. The Sookie/Eric saga has just begun and anyone who has read the books knows that the best is yet to come.
Godric, who is Eric's maker, has decided that he will meet the sun no matter how Eric feels about it. He's a two thousand year old vampire and says that now he knows that it is wrong for vampires to exist and is not afraid to end it. He's been alive to long and just wants to end it all. Eric begs him not to and even kneels at his feet and cries like a baby. Eric tells Godric that he will either die with him or keep him alive against his will. As his maker, Godric commands Eric to leave him to his destiny. Sookie decides that she wants to be there with Godric so he doesn't have to be alone. He asks her to take care of Eric. She says that she doesn't know about that because she's with Bill, but we all know how that's gonna play out.
In the meantime, Mary Anne is wrecking havoc on Bon Temps. She's still after Sam, running Tara and Eggs relationship, and taking over Sookie's house with wild orgies. I am still mad as hell that Tara's ass had no where to live and Sookie invited her into her home and she in turn let Mary Anne take over the house and have wild parties there? WTH? This is why hot mess friends and relatives should not be allowed to stay with you, especially when you're out of town. Sookie should kick her ass to the curb when she gets home. Tara has been a loud mouth hot mess since day one. Lafayette, her cousin, is also a hot mess but after his little scare with Eric, he's trying to get his shit together. He even told Tara that he didn't have the energy to deal with her mess. Despite that, Lafayette and Tara's mom Lettie Mae go over to Sookie's house and drag Tara out. We'll see how this plays out.
Anyway, there are only three more episodes in season 2. These last three are gonna be super good. Lorena's gotta come back to kidnap Bill so Sookie can rescue him. Eric gets to get closer to Sookie in Bill's absence and we meet the Queen of Louisiana. I can't wait...

True Blood...Can't Wait Until Sunday!

I started reading The Sookie Stackhouse Novels after I saw the first season of True Blood. I caught it on HBO Demand after the season had ended so I didn't have to wait each week to find out what was going on. I watched it back to back for 3 days and was hooked.
After I watched the first season, I went out and bought all the books and read them back to back. Charlaine Harris is a wonderful writer who knows how to captivate her readers. I laughed and cried right along with the characters.
At first, I wondered why Alan Ball didn't follow the exact story but now I am so glad. The extra plots leave you wishing everyday was Sunday. This past Sunday was no different. And just for the record, I am so TEAM ERIC... I can't wait until Bill gets his walking papers.
